THE LOOP OF DOOM REVERSED.
Aging does not have to mean accepting a downward spiral. Small, consistent actions can create a positive aging loop—one that builds strength, confidence, connection, and independence.
THE POSITIVE AGING LOOP
MOVE → CONNECT → LEARN → EAT WELL → SLEEP → BUILD CONFIDENCE → MOVE MORE
MOVE: Do something every day. Walking, stretching, strength training, balance exercises—even 30 minutes count.
CONNECT: People who stay connected are more likely to stay engaged. Call someone. Join a club. Attend a class. Volunteer. Pick one each day.
LEARN: Keep your brain working. Try something new, read, create, teach, or explore. Use your non-dominant hand for as much as possible.
EAT WELL: Give your body the nutrition it needs to maintain strength and energy.1 oz of water per ½ your body weight AND 60-70 grams of protein in your 3 meals a day
SLEEP & RECOVER: Recovery helps your body and brain function better. 7-8 hours of sleep feeds good REM sleep. REM sleep helps your brain restoration and memory processing.
BUILD CONFIDENCE: Every small success matters. Doing something you thought you couldn’t do
Pick ONE small action EVERY DAY
Walk for 10 minutes.
Call a friend.
Attend a class.
Try something new.
Get outside.
Practice balance.
Volunteer for one small job.
Then do it again tomorrow.
THE GOAL IS TO AGE WITH PURPOSE, STRENGTH, CONNECTION AND CHOICE.
You may not control every change that comes with aging—but you can influence the direction of the next step.
BREAK THE LOOP. BUILD A BETTER ONE.
Don’t wait for a crisis to change direction. Start with one small positive action today.
