HEALTH TWEAKS

Small changes can make a big difference! Pick 2–3 tweaks this week, then add another next week. These simple habit tweaks can help you stay stronger, sharper, healthier, and more independent.

1. Move Every Hour
Stand up, stretch, or walk for 2–5 minutes every hour. Movement boosts circulation, balance, energy, and joint health.

2. Prioritize Protein
Aim for 60–70 grams daily (or as recommended by your healthcare provider). Enjoy Greek yogurt, eggs, cottage cheese, milk, chicken, turkey, fish, tuna, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, tofu, or a protein shake. Protein builds muscle, speeds healing, strengthens immunity, and helps prevent falls.
Extra Tweak: Have a protein-rich snack before bed to support overnight muscle repair and better REM sleep.

3. Drink More Water
Don’t wait until you’re thirsty! Aim for 1 ounce of water for every ½ of body weight.  Staying hydrated helps prevent fatigue, dizziness, confusion, constipation, UTIs, kidney problems, and heat illness.

4. Challenge Your Brain
Keep learning! Read, do puzzles, play cards, learn a new skill, or enjoy meaningful conversations. Practice memory retrieval by recalling a new name or fact an hour later.

5. Make Sleep a Priority
Aim for 7–8 hours of quality sleep. Keep a regular bedtime, avoid screens, caffeine, and alcohol before bed, and consider a low-sugar protein snack in the evening.

6. Stay Connected

Life involvement is powerful medicine. Stay involved with family, friends, neighbors, clubs, and volunteer work. Strong social connections improve mood, support brain health, and may even help you live longer.
